The Program

How does Lead the Room work?

Thirty years of leading rooms taught us it comes down to four things. You build CONFIDENCE to own the room, sharpen SKILLS to influence it, master ENERGY to read and move it, and use DESIGN to shape it — one lab per skill, two weeks, every session practised live.

Lead the Room

Here's what Lead the Room is NOT:

  • It's NOT a generic facilitation course full of tips and techniques you've already heard a hundred times before.
  • It's NOT a self-paced video library where you watch alone, hope something sticks, and never actually practise in a real room.
  • It's NOT built for experienced facilitators or leaders with positional authority.

The Opportunity

Why learn to lead the room?

01

Influence Without Authority

Leadership no longer comes with a reporting line. The real work happens across teams — aligning peers, stakeholders, and seniors you can't instruct — and the room is where that work gets done.

02

Presence That Gets Noticed

The room is where reputations are made. Lead a meeting, town hall, or off-site well and the right people see a leader — not the person who holds the agenda.

03

Outcomes You Can Point To

Most meetings end in more meetings. When you reliably end in decisions, alignment, and momentum, you become the person trusted with the moments that matter.

Quiz: Is this right for you?

Do you need to influence and align people who don't report to you?

Are you leading through persuasion, not position — and finding that good arguments alone don't move the room?

Do you run high-stakes meetings, town halls, or off-sites — but walk out without the result you needed?

Are you pouring hours into preparing the content, yet the room still drifts, stalls, or ends with no clear decision?

Are you technically excellent, but want to lead rooms with more confidence and precision?

Does your expertise speak for itself on paper, yet in the room you hold back, over-explain, or lose the group?

Who's Teaching This

Meet the Mentors

Two practitioners who've spent decades in the room — not writing about facilitation, but doing it. The Lead the Room Method is built from that experience.

Michele Skogerboe

Michele Skogerboe

Michele designs and delivers experiences that challenge how leaders think, behave, and show up. She doesn't lecture from the front of the room — she creates immersive programmes that surface hard truths and help leaders practise courage, curiosity, and care. Her work draws from psychology, systems thinking, and human-centred design, always grounded in evidence and translated for real rooms.

Jason Moore

Jason Moore

Jason has spent more than two decades facilitating leadership experiences for organisations including Microsoft, HSBC, Netflix, Equinix, and Goldman Sachs — reaching more than 500,000 people across 50+ countries. His style is energising, rigorous, and deeply human. He brings as much care to what shifts in people as to what gets decided.

Loved by ambitious leaders

"If you need to influence outcomes in rooms where you're not the most senior person, this is very much built for you. I found myself using the tools the very next week in real meetings."
Rosanne McBrayer
"After just one session, I walked away with practical, actionable tactics I could immediately apply. It's rare to find a workshop that's not only insightful, but truly actionable the moment you leave."
Denyse
"I feel much more confident in my ability to facilitate effectively — not just to guide discussions, but to truly provoke insight and galvanize change within groups. I would highly recommend this program to anyone looking to elevate their facilitation skills."
Tracy Xiong-Morel
"I did (and do) consider myself a seasoned facilitator, so I was quite surprised at how useful and engaging the programme was. Whether you've been doing this for 1 year or 10, this is the programme for you!"
Rina G Lynch
"If you know you're capable of more impact but you're tired of forcing it, do this programme. It'll change how you lead."
Stefani Okamoto
"Lead the Room demystified facilitation for me — it's an art we bring ourselves to, but it's also a science. Now that I have the science down, I know I can practise bringing my own magic. If you're considering joining, you won't regret it."
Marlenne Johnson

Frequently Asked Questions

Still wondering?

How much time do I need?+
Two 90-minute live labs per week for two weeks — four sessions in total. The only homework is using the tools in the flow of work.
What if I can't attend live?+
Every session has recordings and other videos you can access immediately, so you can catch up before the next lab. That said, the labs are where the action happens — attend live whenever you can.
I'm not naturally confident in front of a room. Can I still do this?+
That's exactly what the first session is for. Confidence in a room is a practice, not a personality trait — and you'll leave with a repeatable loop for building it.
Do I need a leadership title or direct reports?+
No. Lead the Room is built for people who lead with influence rather than authority — chiefs of staff, program leads, experts, and managers who need to move rooms they don't command.
Is this just facilitation training?+
No — it's a leadership method. You'll pick up facilitation techniques along the way, but the outcome is bigger: leading any room toward the result you need.
How is this different from presentation-skills courses?+
Presentation training teaches you to deliver polished content at a room. Lead the Room teaches you to work with the room — reading it, moving it, and reaching outcomes together.
How long do I have access?+
You keep lifetime access to the session videos and resources, plus ongoing access to the community — and the Field Guide is yours on your shelf.
Is there a guarantee?+
Yes. Join the first lab, and if it's not right for you, let us know within 48 hours for a full refund — no questions asked.
